Greetings FoxyPress users!  This release was suppose to go out last week when I was visiting FoxyCart’s California office, but due to the holidays and some additionally awesome things, it was delayed.  However, we now bring you some awesome new functionality for Affiliate Management, as well as a brand new theme!

Modern Theme

The Modern theme was designed by Andrew Bridewell of Bridewell Design.  We hope you enjoy it and feel free to ask any questions about it through our contact form or on our forum.

Affiliate Banner Management

The crew over at Delgado Protocol were interested in uploading their own banners for their affiliate program that they were already utilizing FoxyPress for.  This functionality was not a part of FoxyPress, but they decided to sponsor the project!

So you now have the ability to upload custom banners, set a specific landing page for that banner, and more.  Not to mention, you can now edit your affiliate approval email from within the Settings page of FoxyPress. We’ve written some tutorials on how to accomplish all of this and listed them in our knowledge base.  Check it out here and look under the Affiliate Management section!

We’re excited to bring you another FoxyPress update! This one has some cool stuff in it! Let’s dive in…

New Forum and Knowledge Base

We realize that the old forum has quite a few helpful topics in it, but we were lacking a good way to produce articles on how to use FoxyPress, not to mention a few sign in problems and other various functionality that we disliked. We discovered TenderApp, and we’re giving it a spin! It allows for us to create knowledge base articles that are searchable, as well as the fact they can be recommended based on what you’re looking for in the forums.

We plan on updating this as much as possible to get all that is possible with FoxyPress into a documented area. We will try to import as many of the existing topics from the old forum as well. Thank you for being flexible with us through this transition. We’d love to hear your feedback on how the new forum works too and if we should keep it or not. Check it out here!

Status Management Enhancements

Thanks to Kirk Woller of MamaDoo Kids, we’ve been able to enhance our status management email templates to use the same legend that we created for product email templates. Basically you can customize your status emails with things like tracking number, products ordered, and much more. Read up on it on our new knowledge base, located here. We’ve given some basic instructions on how to create a status that sends out an automatic email.

User Portal Additions

In release 0.3.8, we added functionality to our API that allows you to grab your customer’s transactions and ultimately create an order history page. We’ve been able make this user area even better, thanks to Delgado Protocol, by adding affiliate stats API calls.

Happy Monday FoxyPress users! Nothing like starting your week with a fresh FoxyPress release!  Thanks to some great FoxyPress users, we’ve been able to add two really cool features to the FoxyPress plug-in that will help out everyone. Please let us know if you have any questions in the forum. Now on to the info!

User Voice Voting

We were inspired by FoxyCart’s request panel, powered through UserVoice, and we decided to offer one specific to FoxyPress. We’ve seen quite a jump in users and feature requests, so we wanted to make this feature available to everyone and consolidate everything a bit easier than we were on the forum.  Please visit here to submit your feature request and let’s get the voting started! We plan to see how much user feedback we receive and then decide if we can develop the requested features for free, or if we will need to provide a funding option for users to donate a portion and get the feature into FoxyPress.  After all, FoxyPress grows due to user funding and ideas, so please, give us your feedback! It is important to us and all the other users.

Affiliate Management Functionality Addition

Thanks to Adam Morrissey from Delgado Protocol, we were able to add an additional tier to the affiliate program. Basically what we mean is that now affiliates can refer other affiliates, and you can set how much $ or % of an order that they receive for that referral’s commissions.  We’ve added the appropriate fields for the user signup page, as well as in the affiliate details area for determining payouts.  We hope to keep growing the affiliate management area to fit your needs, so please let us know if you have any requests!

User Portal Addition

This is a great new feature that we’re super excited to bring to you.  Thanks to the guys at WeTheDesigners, we’ve been able to develop an area that will allow users to see their past orders/transaction history.  Right now, we only have the ability to see orders, but we’re hoping to improve this to become a full user portal that will give them things such as affiliate stats, past orders, and other preferences local to your store or FoxyPress install.  So a user will be able to go to http://demo.foxy-press.com/user-portal/%username%/order-history and view all of their order information.

We’ve provided a base file for you to drop in your theme folder for now, but we will have a better example in the coming days/weeks.  Stand by for that. Download the example file here. Here is how you will get it working:

1. Install the 0.3.8 update.
2. Drop this file in your themes folder.
3. Create a page that you want your users to land on when they log in and access their portal.
4. Set the page template to the FoxyPress User Portal template.
5. Under the Store Options in the FoxyPress settings page, check the box for “Enable User Status”.
6. We have additional information available on the wp-config options that will exist to customize the portal further. WP Config Info, API Info
